Award winning user experience is key to a great Mac CRM software solution.

Recently, Gro CRM's user-interface caught the eye of FinancesOnline, one of the most popular business review directories. FinancesOnline prepared a detailed review of Gro CRM and awarded our software with their 2017 Great User Experience Award for CRM software tools. So why is a great user interface so important?

Steve Job’s, the late co-founder of Apple, is remembered for many things. One of his most memorable quotes, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works,” is one that should be the motto of any great Mac CRM. Software design must combine functionality, informativeness, and simplicity, so that even a child could use the app without being taught first. That's what makes up an intuitive app design.

If you’ve ever seen one of Apple’s marketing videos featuring Jonathan Ive, you’ve seen the importance of design at every level of developing their products. They show not only the exterior beauty of their products such as the Macbook, iPhone and iPad, but how every square inch of the interior structure is designed with complete perfection and beauty. When it comes to Apple products, design is not just what it looks and feels like. Design is how it works.

When it comes to Mac CRMs, and specifically iOS apps for iPhone and iPad Pro, designers and developers are presented with an immense challenge. They have to find a way to fit a lot of information into a very small area, and at the same time make sure that the average user can easily navigate the system and find the information they are looking for. Many Mac CRM developers have missed the boat on this one. In a desperate attempt to build a CRM app that contains as many features as possible, they forget about the front end user-experience and have to try design around the mess after it’s been built. The result is often times a very complex and confusing user-interface.

So how important is a good UX? Here are some fun facts about the cost of a bad one[1]:

1. 45% of users give up if registration is hard.

2. $243 is lost per customer from bad user experiences.

3. Many employees quit out of frustration.

For Gro CRM, our approach was different. In developing the app, we looked at the user-interface first. We designed the look and feel before ever building the back-end of the system that makes everything work.
